Put it in a nice, partially shaded spot with filtered sunlight.
It appreciates regular watering and prefers a humid environment, but does well in room conditions as well.
Even when grown indoors, it flowers regularly. You can even try to propagate it from seeds.
It is a palm species native to Mexico and Guatemala.
